Advocacy and Awards in August

August allowed Global Hope 365 to deepen our work with educating the community.

So far in 2019!

3,229 Campaign Postcards Signed by Citizens and sent to elected officials.

21 Meetings with elected officials.

The Global Hope 365 team devoted much of August to working with our colleagues at the UCI Initiative to End Family Violence to prepare for the Human Trafficking and Child Marriage Forum on Saturday, September 14th at the UCI School of Law, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Please read our blog for details regarding the remarkable community leaders who will speak at the event. Registration is available at the following link.

Below are the highlights of our activities in August. In addition, Rima Nashashibi does 10-15 Speaking engagements a month for small groups. Rima never passes up an opportunity to meet with people to engage and raise awareness. Saturday, August 3rd – The Global Hope 365 team had a table at the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee Concert Under the Stars. Attendees signed postcards to legislators as part of our advocacy to end Child Marriage and Human Trafficking.

Saturday, August 10th – Rima Nashashibi spoke about Child Marriage and Human Trafficking at the United Nations Association of the USA, District Council Meeting, Southern California Division. The United Nations offer unwavering support of the end of Child Marriage in the United States in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Saturday, August 18th – The Global Hope 365 team had a table at the Newport Beach Women’s Democratic Club. Attendees signed postcards to legislators as part of our advocacy to end Child Marriage and Human Trafficking.

Friday, August 23rd – Rima Nashashibi conducted a synthesis session to journalists visiting from Thailand including introducing them to the work of Global Hope 365 on human trafficking issues. The journalists were invited to Los Angeles through a program sponsored by the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles (IVCLA).

Sunday, August 25th – Rima Nashashibi is honored at the Women For Orange County Thirty-Ninth Annual Suffrage Day Brunch.

Wednesday, August 28th – Rima Nashashibi attended the Women Drivers Interfaith meeting to continue to build support for the end of Child Marriage in the interfaith community.

Thursday, August 29th – Rima met with Breaking Chains, an Orange County nonprofit dedicated to providing services to Human Trafficking Victims in Latin America.
