Human Trafficking exploits women and children for financial gain.

Human Trafficking exploits women and children for financial gain.

Human trafficking is a $150 billion industry worldwide. Women and children are being sold for sex or labor, and sometimes both around the world, but most shockingly in the United States. There are hundreds of victims in Orange County, California, hundreds of thousands of victims in the United States and millions around the globe. Global Hope 365 advocates for more education and tougher legislation targeting the buyers and businesses that are fueling the multi-billion-dollar industry. We ask you to help us in our quest to educate citizens and lawmakers.

Human trafficking is illegal yet common in the United States.

Under federal law in the United States, anyone engaging in commercial sex acts who is under the age of 18 years old is legally a victim of child sex trafficking. How do human traffickers evade the law? Human traffickers intimidate and isolate their victims. Traffickers confiscate the passports or other identification as well as all financial resources from their victims. Human trafficking has been documented in all fifty U.S. states. The perpetrators target vulnerable women and children, including runaways, often living in poverty, and keep them hidden in adverse living conditions. Often the victims are transported across county and/or state lines. Human trafficking can be prevented and eliminated through awareness and education.

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery. Human trafficking exploits women and children, revoking their basic human rights and dignity for the greed of perpetrators. All men who hire prostitutes in the United States may be inadvertently hiring children or victims of human trafficking and contributing to this insidious industry. As prostitution is illegal in the United States, there is no way to confirm the “prostitute” is not under the age of 18 and/or a victim of forced sex. Global Hope 365 supports the concept of a national registry for both the perpetrators and buyers of sex.

Global Hope 365 advocates awareness and education. Law enforcement and aware citizens are important tools in the fight against human trafficking. Global Hope 365 is committed to raising awareness and saving lives in the United States and internationally.

Global Hope 365 is active in the community and dedicated to the advancement of women’s and girl’s rights. We are organizing, fundraising, strategizing and advocating, and of course learning more each and every day on how to transform the landscape in Orange County, California, the US and around the world.
